Pretty Pumpkins

It was another craft weekend for me (see Fall Wreaths). I am not the craftiest person in the world, so I feel it necessary to share stuff that I can do, because if I can do it really anyone else can. Also, I am not a fan of the old fashioned carving of the pumpkins  so this was my roommate, Taylor, and mine’s alternative to the classic jack-o-lantern.

1. Glitter Pumpkin

Paint a layer of mod podge that dries clear onto the pumpkin. Add orange glitter onto of the wet mod podge.

2. Sequin Pumpkin

Using leftover mod podge, paint a little bit on the top portion of a smaller sized pumpkin. Toss colored confetti onto the pumpkin and shake off whatever didn’t stick. I found a pack of orange/purple/green/blue confetti and added gold/silver confetti too.

3. Chevron Pumpkin

Create the zig-zag pattern lines using painter’s tape. Paint white (or whatever color you like) in between the painter’s tape lines. Note: make sure the tape is pressed down good in the curves of the pumpkin or you are going to have to tidy up the lines after you peel off the tape.

4. Candle Pumpkin

Get a tiny pumpkin and carve off the top and remove all the seeds. Place a tea light candle into the carved space for a unique candle holder.
